Hi Helpers! Welcome back to a new edition of Around The HF World, the series where we explore Help Force’s members’ countries! In today’s post, I had the chance to learn more about Mexico from Shorty, a member who has been an awesome and active helper. So, let’s discover her country!

The Country Interview
Hi Shorty! Let’s start our journey by asking: What is your nationality? If you have more than one, please mention them.
Hi sweetie! 🩷
I’m born and raised as Mexican, but my parents sent me away when I was 15 to Canada, made a life there and ended up marrying a Korean.
But you can say I’m Mexican, I say it proudly. 💚🤍❤️
Very interesting! Can you share some traditions from Mexico with us?
Well we have so many as you know, but one of my favourite ones is día de los muertos or day of the death. 💖
For those who don’t know what day of the death is I’ll explain it to you real quick:
Día de los muertos or day of the death is a beautiful Mexican tradition of remembering the people we love who are no longer with us.
It isn’t about being sad that they’re gone but more like celebrating their lives, remembering who they were, the things they loved, and the memories they left behind. We create altars with their photos, favorite foods, flowers, and candles as a way of saying, “You are still loved, you are still remembered, and you will always be part of our family.”
To me, that’s what makes Día de Muertos so beautiful: it’s proof that love can continue even after someone is gone.❤️🇲🇽
WOW! So BEAUTIFUL! I love dia de los muertos too! I love the Sugar skulls hehe. Care to share some traditional meals from Mexico?
Meals? Wow! Of course, something I love about Mexico is the diversity of food, we have so much good food, from mole, tacos, pozole, carnes en su jugo (meet on its juice), menudo, Chamorros, it’s just endless. You can actually go check it out my recipe of meet on its juice on food for every soul. 💖
Yes amazing ! I love the variety of food and amazing dishes! Mexican food is DEFINITELY a comfort food! Is there any place you’d recommend to visit in particular in Mexico?
Just one is impossible, honestly every part has its charm, I mean puerto Vallarta, la Paz, los cabos, Cancún, the lagoon of Bacalar that its water has 7 different colours of blue, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, little towns around the cities, the piramid of Chichén-itza which is one of 7 world wonders. But I must admit one of my favourite places it’s indeed Bacalar.
Actually in Bacar even if it’s a lagoon somehow pirates got to get into the lagoon, they stayed there for a while because they thought it was a magical place. And there’s also an island called Holbox which is an Island that glows in the dark, cars are not allowed so just golf carts and bikes are allowed, it’s filled with raccoons and whales or some kind of non dangerous sharks.
A place I always wanted to visit is Oaxaca, but I’ve never been able to go. I heard it’s beautiful but since I haven’t been there I cannot give you recommendations.
Beautiful & Interesting places to visit! Now, please rate your country in the three categories we discussed, using a scale of 1 to 10.
I mean traditions 10, food 10, places 10. We have country so beautiful, but it needs more safety and better politicians. Haha
Finally, would you recommend foreigners to visit Mexico?
Oh definitely! Mexico is a country you should not miss in your life.
Shorty shared some nice traditions, foods, and places from Mexico! Thank you for being part of the post! Leave a comment on your opinion about Mexico, and if you would like to visit it, and don’t forget to leave a like! See you next time!
