Song of the week #40 Bloody Devastation – Phill C

Hey there helpers! Welcome back to the Song of the Week series. This week I am joined by Scar Asriel! She recommended the song Bloody Devastation – Grace OST by Phill C

Here’s what she had to say about the song:

Knowing what everything in that song stands for honestly is good inspiration to me to keep moving forward despite everything that happens.
Doesn’t matter what happens, just letting everything come to a grinding halt doesn’t fix anything.
It’s also a complete vibe and fits the tone of the section of Grace it’s from

There’s a chaos to the song at the start with tempo changes and mood shifts throughout that keep you on your toes. The rhythm section at the start of the song is very interesting, with a syncopated beat to add to the business of the song. Then about half way through we have a tempo change with a slow build of tension before we get compelling lyrics that are beautiful and hauntingly sad in places before we change everything up once more. The instruments blend really well with the vocals that seem to fit into the instrumentation rather than stand out on their own which is a really interesting take. The song overall is messy and chaotic but also a perfect fit for the theme and subject of the song! A very unique and cool choice!
