HTML5 – An Insight

HTML-5 – An Insight

You’ve probably seen people saying “RIP FLASH PLAYER 2020” or “BYE BYE FLASH”. If you live under a rock and have no idea what’s going on. Let me brief it to you. It’s basically an engine/language, which provides access to many games (including Club Penguin), video platforms and a bunch of software executed for to serve it. Although, it was incepted in 1996 which makes it really slow and outdated. Newer engines now replace Flash Player, let’s talk about one important engine.

HTML-5, the New Normal.

HTML-5 is short for Hyper Text Markup Language 5 (which is a continuation of HTML-4 which I leave to you for research), Don’t let this Hyper Text stuff confuse you, just like any other software engine, this is one too but it’s newer and more stable. Since Flash Player was discontinued, the CPPS community looks toward HTML5 for brighter opportunities. Don’t take this stuff for granted though, transferring CP Data over to HTML5 is a pain. One of the best factors of HTML-5 is that you can play it on your mobile phone or tablet! Flash Player didnt have proper Mobile Device support.

CPPS Info

By now, you might’ve known, Club Penguin Rewritten is our sole CPPS. We use it for events, segments and much more! The game has been down lately, if you aren’t aware of why this happened. It’s because CPR is currently sending data over to HTML5. As I said, it’s a long process.

For the past few days, we’ve been using Club Penguin Chapter 2 to test HTML5 stability and actually be able to experience it before CPR is here. There have been a lot of bugs and glitches but remember, humans and computers make errors. These will be corrected in no-time!

HTML-5 Tips

Google Chrome Enhancement

If you’re a Google Chrome user, I suggest following these steps to enhance your HTML-5 experience.

  1. Open up your Settings Page by clicking on the 3-dots to the top-right of your screen.

  2. Click on the “Advanced” drawer icon to the left side of your screen.

  3. Click on the “System” icon with the little Wrench Icon.

  4. Now, toggle the “Use hardware acceleration when available” switch, if it’s already switched on, leave it unattended.

HTML-5 Suggested Browsers

I suggest using browser’s such as Microsoft Edge, Firefox Browser and gaming browsers such as Opera GX for the optimum HTML-5 experience. Do not use any unsafe browsers which do not have any form of certification.

Mac users can use Safari since it’s a good option. You can also look for other browsers as well with some research.

Conclusion.

If you’ve played Flash Games as a kid, you would definitely miss Flash Player. A moment of silence for the Flash Player lovers………………….. that’s enough silence. If you’ve learnt something new today, remember to comment to this post! I will be open to any questions asked in Discord. I will see you all in the next post helpers 🙂
