The Help Force

Hey Helpers! In this edition of ‘Get to Know the Help Force Staff’, I’m here with one of the most loyal and underrated staff members of the Force, Komal! Also formerly called ‘fly’, you may know her for her joyful presence and being a constant pride icon around servers. Komal has been in the Help Force for over a year, but there’s still so much to know!

How long have you’ve been a moderator in the Help Force?

Komal

Well this question is gonna be fun to answer

I was originally given trial mod in August 2019. I was demoted for a day in October. Then in December 2019, we moved CPPS’ and I was demoted because I was CPO staff and there was an issue with lack of trust. In January 2020 I rejoined the staff team. I took a quick break at the beginning of February but I rejoined like two days later bc I missed it lol

Do you think you’ve made a significant impact on the Help Force since you became mod? If so, how do you think you’ve helped?

Komal

I definitely have. I’ve been a mod for a while now and I think I’ve done a pretty good job in general. The biggest influence I think I’ve made in general is lifting people’s spirits and keeping up hype. I’m a very laid back person and I like to have fun with people very often

What is your favorite tactic to use during Help Force events?

Komal

A flypun tactic! “Is this tactic fly enough?” “Flyest tactic of today!”

What’s your favorite thing to do in CP and why?

Komal

Designing igloos, especially in Oasis. The whole concept of creating things really appeals to me and it’s just fun overall to see what I can do

definitely bean counters, but it’s really easy so the candy versions

Before you switched to being called mostly by your real name, you were ‘flypin1’. Could you explain the story behind this name for curious Helpers reading?

Komal

well two reasons I guess

“flypin1” is more of a persona than an actual person. its a representation of a mask everyone puts on because no one is perfect, so people put on their mask to be the perfect person but they’re all just fake. no one is ever going to be that flawless person that they want to be. for that reason I decided to be myself. finding my “real self” isn’t easy, and it’s never going to be, but I want to be someone who can recognize myself no matter where I am, whether it’s online or in real life.

also, I wanted people to call my real name (mostly moon) but they all kept forgetting so in a spur of the moment I just changed it lol

What are your favorite hobbies to do outside of the Help Force and CP?

Komal

I’m really big on music, I’m in a band and I play in a drum corps, which is basically a “professional” marching band.

What is your favorite memory or moment that has happened during your time as a moderator?

Komal

oh I have so many good memories

one of my favorites is the first event I lead, which went super well and I got a lot of recognition for it. I love doing stamp segs, I feel that surge of positivity when we get to help people out. a funny moment is when I almost skipped out on my event because my sister set our toaster on fire. I mentioned it in staff chat and it got memed a lot, its even in the lol page. OH AND ONE OF THE BEST IS WHEN MY CHRISTMAS THEMED HF BEACON CAME OUT!! I got to include a lot of people in it and the reactions from people reading it were pretty funny

Komal

yes, ofc! you all matter so much. we couldn’t do this without you. the staff is about as useful to the force as you are. can’t do events if no one shows up, right?
