Hii there, lovely helper! Welcome to a new post of CP Knowledge, the series where I talk about the different themed parties that were held on Club Penguin. Unlike the parties from past few posts, this one was not a recurring party. After today, we will all be experts on what went down during Club Penguin’s last party, the Waddle On party!
The Waddle On party was a celebration of the history and community of Club Penguin. It lasted for a whole 2 months and ended on March 30th 2017, when Club Penguin shut down. You might have expected this to be one of the biggest parties ever with the whole island decorated, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Only 12 rooms had decorations, which is nothing compared to the 30 rooms decorated during the 10th Anniversary Party. Something cool though is that the room music changed to music from previous popular parties. For example, the Ice Rink featured a song from The Fair. For the last week of the party, fireworks could be seen in the sky of some rooms. The ten biggest mascots also came to visit the island, along with many of the moderators!
Fun fact: the catchphrase “Waddle On!” came from Lane Merrifield, penguin name Billybob, co-founder of Club Penguin.
Waddle On Trivia Rooms
Seven of the rooms had a screen with fun trivia questions. Each room had a different theme of the trivia. The Ice Rink had questions about minigames, the Forest was all about puffles, and so on. For every room, you would be rewarded with a pin after getting three correct answers. In the Forest and Dojo, you’d also get a background. There were a total of 126 questions for you to ponder over.
Iceberg
The possibility to tip the iceberg was always a well known rumour spread through the island. There were speculations that if enough penguins stood on one side of the Iceberg, it would tip over. Later the prevailing opinion was that a large number of penguins would have to wear a hardhat and use the Jackhammer 3000 to tip the berg.
Many references were made to the Iceberg tipping rumour. The Berg Drill! stamp was obtained by 30 penguins drilling on the Iceberg. A painting of the Iceberg tipping over was seen in the Puffle Hotel Dining Room during the 2014 Halloween Party. A similar painting was also located in the Lodge Attic after its renovation in 2015. It was also mentioned many times in the newspaper, Club Penguin Times.
During the Waddle On party, this rumour — dare I say dream — finally became true. If at least five penguins in blue, walking any kind of blue puffle, danced while wearing a hard hat, the berg would tip over. If 2-4 penguins fulfilled this criteria the Iceberg would start shaking. When tipped, the Iceberg would completely flip over, revealing a large dance floor, a bin of free Iceberg Tipper hats, and a plaque with many carvings and an inscription on it. “Together, we can build an island, create a community, change the world… and even tip an iceberg. Waddle on.” (words that made me tear up the first time I saw them). An instrumental version of “Party In My Iggy” was also played.
That was it for this edition of CP Knowledge! I hope you’ve learnt something new today and that you’ve enjoyed this post! If you have any suggestions on what party I should do next, please write to me PinguMaliz on Discord or leave a comment below :)) See you soon <3
