Food For Every Soul

Welcome back Helpers!!! Welcome to another edition of Food for Every Soul a series by Amy and I where we interview people from Help Force about their favorite and famous recipes! For our this post, we decided to interview the sweet, nice, amazing HF Commodore Aqualisa!

We asked her some questions about this recipe!

Hi Aqualisa! Thank you for joining us today for an interview :please:! Can you tell us what recipe you will be talking about today?

Aqualisa: I’m going to be talking about oats, raisins and sunflower seed cookies!

Why is this recipe important to you, is it a family recipe, or any history/story behind it?

Aqualisa: It’s a recipe my family used to make when we baked as it was easy and we usually had the ingredients. My mum adjusted it a bit and we liked to take it to my grandpa’s house too when we went for lunch and share it round.

Next comes the best part the Recipe!!! (As told by Aqualisa)

Oats, raisins and sunflower seed cookies!

» Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy

» Stir in all of the remaining ingredients until completely combined.

» Shape into walnut-sized balls and flatten them onto a non-stick baking try with your hand.

» Bake in an oven preheated to 180C/350F/gas mark 4 for about 15 minutes, until they are golden. They will be soft but will harden a little when they are cool.

» Makes about 14 (recipe might be adjusted)

SWEETLY Oat, Raisin and Sunflower Seed cookies - SWEETLY

Measurements:

130g Butter

115g soft brown sugar

1tsp vanilla essence

115g raisins

60g sunflower seeds

75g plain flour

115g porridge oats

3/8 tsp bicarbonate of soda

3/4 tsp salt

Do you have any tips and tricks on making it or why people may like this recipe?

Aqualisa: It’s delicious and healthy. Raisins are actually rich in B vitamins, iron and potassium and give you lots of energy. If you don’t like to eat a lot of salt you can add less. We usually add only half of what the recipe says. I imagine using other dried fruit and possibly nuts also work although I’ve never tried it.

Amazing! Well, thank you again Aqualisa for sharing this yummy recipe with us!:yum:

Aqualisa: No problem!

And with that everyone, we’ve reached the end of the post! We know you wanted to read more xD but we will be back next time with more fresh and delicious content!!!

If anyone would like to share a recipe with us, DM either of us with your ideas!!

Bon Appetit! <3
