Song of the Week

Welcome to the series called Song of the Week! Every week, I ask a different member about their favourite song, giving a little of my input to go along with it. This week, we have Duckss, a person with very good taste in music!! This one is a rather unique song as it isn’t your typical English pop tune. Alternativelywe have the lively Italian rock song chosen by Duckss, ZITTI E BUONI!!

The tune starts with a single bass guitar riff and progresses right into a sturdy intro by the lead singer. The modulation and tune supporting the lyrics are raw and from the core. They truly seize the rockstar vibes during the entire song. The whole song surely appears like a blow to the face.

The primary catch of the song is probably the message its sending. At the ending, it talks about searching for an escape to an area where it’s not as constricting. An area without people constantly criticizing every move, a place where they can simply be. The performance at Eurovision as well as in the song video was fantastic. Damiano’s vocals, Victoria’s sparkling and charismatic performance with Ethan’s distinctive drumming makes the involvement even more euphoric. Thomas carries out the entire song by switching to and fro from leading to bass and highlighting the playing throughout the crafty bridge.

Overall, the song radiates energy and explosiveness. One of the best rock songs I’ve heard without exaggeration. The kind of music which deserved to win the Euro Vision Performance, and so it did. A double victory for Italy indeed.

I love listening to songs by Måneskin, so I would naturally think Duckss choice was excellent. They have very meaningful lyrics

The song was made in 2021, by Måneskin which is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016. The band are Damiano David, Ethan Torchio, Thomas Raggi, and the only female member, Victoria De Angelis! They made their big break by winning the International song competition, widely known as Eurovision or ESC.

They have a fairly popular album from 2018 that has great songs to accompany the song queue with Zitti e buoni. Each song has a lovely rhythm that many people can jam along to and they’re mainly available on Spotify, Youtube Music and Deezer. Here is a link to songs that are by the band or similar sounding. Give them a listen and see you next week for another intriguing song!
