I feel like the message is powerful as it speaks on the issue of abuse and negligence and i like the folksy tones that the lumineers tend to bring in their music. The song begins pretty slow and quiet, which then speeds up to a more danceable pace, the title itself refers to someone who causes issues in this case referring to the “mother figure” which again tackles abuse and neglect, in which the inner child finds peace when she’s dead and gone.
