It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Club Penguin Journey is full of festive cheer. Twinkling lights and music, quests and loads of free items., and I do mean loads! To help you enjoy it all, this CP Journey Christmas Party Guide 2025 covers everything you need so you don’t miss a single reward or surprise.

From Coins for Change and the Advent Calendar to concerts, mascots, crafting, and seasonal quests, this guide shows you what to do, where to go, and how to unlock everything before the party ends. Whether you’re here for items, stamps, or cozy winter vibes, you’re in the right place, our little helper’s corner.

Also, Helpers, we’re sorry about the timing of this guide! The website decided to take a very  unannounced and poorly timed holiday break, but after a bit of wrestling, troubleshooting, and some Christmas magic, we’re finally back and ready to spread the festive cheer. 🎄✨

As you just saw, we have a very long list of free items, so I hope you are ready to claim them all!

Free Items

1. Treble Clef Pin

Head to the Coffee Shop and locate the Treble Clef on the top-right corner of the stage.

2. Reindeer Puffle

Our favourite antlered friend is back! Reindeer Puffles can be adopted at the Ice Pond. Enter the Ski Lodge, click Adopt, name your puffle, and he’ll travel to your igloo. Then you can then take them out for a festive winter walk with you💖

3. Santa Seat Background

Don’t wander too far! Visit the Ski Lodge Attic, snap a photo in a Santa’s Chair, and click the Camera to claim the Santa Seat Background.

4. Cookie Serving Apron 

Back from last year, the Cookie Serving Apron can be found in the Book Room (Now the Bakery) above the Coffee Shop, in the left corner next to the conveyor belt.

5. Train Conductor Hat

To get the Train Conductor Hat, just hop on the Train by the Mine Shack! Super Easy!

If you do not get a pop – up, that means you already have one from last year.

6. Spot of Tea and Baguette 

While on the Train, head through the door to the Train Caboose. There, you’ll find the Spot of Tea and the Baguette, yummy!!

7. Holi-lei

Head to The Cove and get ready to enjoy this Holi-lei cheer! 😆😆 I’m so funny guys c’mon.

9. Penguin Band Holiday Jam 2025 Giveaway

Head to the Dock, then go backstage (the door is hidden behind the curtain, so hover your mouse to reveal it) . Once inside, click the poster to claim your background.

9. Toy Sack

Head to the Dance Club, then to the Dance Lounge, now transformed into Santa’s Workshop! Hop in the sleigh, and release 15 presents by clicking the red button as you go. Deliver all 15 presents to earn your Toy Sack.

💡 Pro tip: Click the button as soon as the sleigh aligns with the chimney as there’s a slight delay, so timing is key!

Live Event Backgrounds

Here are the backgrounds you can unlock by attending live concerts and clicking on the performers during the shows. To see when each show is on, click on the stopwatch icon at the top of the screen.

DJ Maxx + Cadence’s Holiday Jam Concert Giveaway – Stadium (Ice Rink) – Stadium

To get this background, you will need to attend the concert at the Stadium, now Ice Rink and press on Cadence’s Hologram.

Penguin Band Holiday Jam 2025 Rock Concert Giveaway – Dock

To get this background, you will need to attend the concert at the Dock, and press on the band when they are performing.

Penguin Band Background – Coffee Shop

To get this background, you will need to attend the concert at the Coffee Shop and press on the band when they are performing.

Mascot Background Giveaways

If you’ve met the mascot before, or meet them during the party, you can claim the reward from the character’s profile menu/.

You no longer need to be online at the same time as the mascot if they are in your friend list.

Free Catalogue Items

Unlike Rockhopper, Captain Crimson skipped the holiday capitalism and brought us the Migrator with free items! To grab them, head to The Beach, click the Migrator to enter, then go to the Ship Hold to access Crimson’s Free Items.

You can find a hidden Pirate Hook in the “R” of the Me Autograph. 

Coins for Change Free Items

It’s the giving season, so of course we have the beloved Coins for Change, a special event where penguins donate coins to help make the world a better place. While donations are now closed, you can still claim all the free items that were unlocked as part of the community’s donation goals!

The rewards are: Milk and Cookies, Red High Tops, Icicle Rock Guitar, Breakdancers’ Scarf, Silver, and Road Racer, all available in the Coins for Change menu.

Grab them before the event ends, and remember to share in the true spirit of Christmas! 🎄🐧

Advent Calendar

And continuing our free items, we have the crown jewel of them all, the Advent Calendar! Who doesn’t like a free item every day?

Free Knitting Items & System Explanation

The Knitting System from last year is back! It’s easy once you get a hang of it. It is located at the Gift Shop Office.

To begin, just grab the yarn and visit different workstations to transform it into various items. Once an item is created, you can either claim it or donate it at the corresponding stations.

Here’s what you can make and claim for free (aside from the “manual labour” and mental gymnastics of navigating this guide!):

Start at the Yarn station, and once your item is created, take it to the Claim or Donate stations to finish the process.

Holly Berry Beanie → Arts and Crafts → Knitting → Sewing
Twilight Handmade Cloak → Arts and Crafts → Snipping → Knitting
Holiday Knitted Scarf → Sewing → Knitting → Sewing
Blue Wool Socks → Knitting → Snipping
Pink Knitted Wing Warmers → Sewing → Snipping
DJ Maxx Stuffie → Arts and Crafts → Snipping → Arts and Crafts
Klutzy Stuffie → Arts and Crafts → Snipping → Sewing
Blue Wool Socks → Knitting → Snipping

And that is it for the knitting system. Honestly, just start making these and you will get a hang of it. 😉

Elf on the Shelf System

Another returning game mechanic this year! We had a similar experience with candies during Halloween. Essentially, you’re looking for an elf that matches the one in the banner. They spawn randomly once you enter a room and appear the size of a pin.

Just like Halloween’s candy, the elf will only appear indoors in rooms without any entry requirements.

Once you find an elf, click on it to receive a free item. You can collect multiple elves if you missed any days, and the items will appear in a random order for any you skipped.

If you’re having trouble finding an elf, try relogging. Sometimes the elf can even appear under the menu, like near the clock or the quest exclamation mark. If that happens, you can also hide the interface by pressing ; (semicolon).

So far, the elf has been spotted in Tour HQ, the Lookout, Gift Shop, Gift Shop Office, Pet Shop, and Puffle Café

 

Currently there are three items available:

Just like the previous Music Jam, we have a few catalogues unique to each stage! They all represent unique music styles and have really cool items for you to buy. None of the booths have any hidden items so you don’t need to worry about missing out.

While this isn’t the Bee Movie, you’re absolutely allowed to love jazz, because I sure do. Despite some complicated personal history tied to it, jazz remains an incredible genre, home to some of the most talented musicians out there. The ability to freestyle, improvise, and create magic together as a band is honestly unmatched.

At the Holiday Jam Jazz Shop you can pick up Sleek Shades for 150 coins, the Platinum Note Necklace for 150 coins, the Penguin Band Jazz Shirt for 200 coins, Holiday Jam Jazzy Vinyl for 200 coins, the Penguin Band Jazz Light for 250 coins, and the Saxophone for 500 coins. There are no secret items at this booth.

Holiday Jam Rock Merch Booth – Dock

I did say I like jazz… but in reality, I’m a hard rock girlie at heart. 🤘
When I was younger, it was considered the least cool genre for a girl, and as someone who absolutely did not want to be like everyone else, that made it the perfect choice.

My teenage angst knew no limits, and my playlists ranged from hard rock all the way to death metal.So go on, little rock star, embrace the noise. 🎸🔥🐧

In this small rock booth you can buy the Loose Yellow Sneaks for 150 coins, the Holiday Jam Rock Vinyl for 200 coins, the Penguin Band Rock Shirt for 200 coins, the Penguin Band Rock Light for 250 coins, the Dance Crew Outfit for 450 coins, and the Six String Axe for 650 coins. 🎸🔥🐧 As usual, no secrets here, just hard rock.

Holiday Jam Backstage Catalog – Backstage

The final paid catalogue is an instrument-filled shop located backstage at the Dock. Enter through the stage, then find the hidden door behind the curtain (hover your mouse to reveal it)

 

Once inside, you’ll find two full pages of instruments available to purchase!

On Page 1 you can buy Boom Mic for 150 coins, Shiny Silver Drumsticks for 300 coins, Blue Electric Guitar for 300 coins, Violin for 450 coins, Grey Accordion for 500 coins, and the Yellow Bass Guitar for 550 coins.

On Page 2 you can buy Cowbell for 50 coins, Holiday Maracas for 100 coins, Boom Mic for 150 coins, Conga Drums for 300 coins, Blue Keytar for 350 coins, Trombone for 500 coins, and the Cello for 1,000 coins.

Oh and yeah, again nothing hidden!

Quests

Captain Crimson might be a little anti-capitalist this time around, but to grab his special goodies, we’ll need rubies! And that’s where quests come in, the reason we work so hard to complete them.

Sometimes buggy, sometimes tricky, but always rewarding in the end. Let’s dive in! 🎯🐧

Easy Quests

1. Create a clothing item in the Knitting Room

You just need to create one for this quest. Head to the Giftshop, then head upstairs  to the Workshop (Gift Shop Office). 

You can find out more in the Free Knitting Items & System Explanation section of the guide about the system. But just make any of the items from this list using the station in the room.

Start at the Yarn, and end at the Claim or Donate stations!

 

2. Take a ride on Santa’s sleigh

Another easy one. Head to the Dance Club, then to the Dance Lounge, now transformed into Santa’s Workshop! Hop in the sleigh and you are done! Nothing more!

3. Claim an item from the Advent Calendar

Super easy! Just head to the Forest and click on any of the numbers on the Advent Calendar to claim an item. All but the last two are available, so even if you claimed everything earlier, you still have a few doors left to open during the party! 🎄🐧

4. Go sled racing

Head to Ski Hill, and match up with someone to go down a hill. Once the race is over, the quest will complete!

5. Spin the puffle sign in the Plaza

For this one, just head to Plaza and throw a snowball at the puffle sign!

6. Play with the Music Maker

For this quest, head to the Snow Forts and follow the Music Maker sign by the clock tower. Once inside the Music Maker Room, simply stand on any of the music tiles. You don’t need to use all four to complete the quest, making it quick and easy! 🎶🐧

7. Talk to Captain Crimson

To complete this quest, head to The Beach and board the Migrator. Use Rockhopper’s Key to enter the Captain’s Quarters through the Ship Hold. Once inside, you’ll find Crimson by the stairs on the right. Just click on him to complete the quest!

If you don’t have Rockhopper’s Key, head to the Coffee Shop and go up the stairs to the Bakery (normally the Book Room). On the left, you’ll find a bookshelf. Select the Captain’s Journal and turn to the very last page to get the key! 🗝️

Medium Quests

1. Like 10 igloos in one session

This quest is marked as medium, but it’s actually super easy! Just visit any 10 igloos and like them! You can pick them from the Igloo List on the map or click on random penguins in the Welcome Room who are asking for igloo likes. And while you’re at it, be nice and give their igloos a like, well you kind of have to! 🏠💖

2. Find an Elf on the Shelf

Oh, this one can be tricky, just earlier today the quest was bugged, but it has been fixed.Please read more about how to catch Elf on the Shelf in our Elf on the Shelf System part of the Guide.

Just like Halloween’s candy, the elf will only appear indoors in rooms without any entry requirements. 

So far, the elf has been spotted in Tour HQ, the Lookout, Gift Shop, Gift Shop Office, Pet Shop, and Puffle Café.

3. Doze off on the CPJ Express

The CPJ Express is located just outside the Mine. Hop on, take a seat, and listen to the music for about 3 minutes. The quest will complete automatically, but make sure to stay in the browser tab, as CPJ doesn’t count AFK or frozen tabs…otherwise you’ll be stuck forever…

4. Vibe with 5 others in the Lookout

It’s exactly what it says. Head to Tour HQ and take the lift up to the Lookout. Stay there with 4 other penguins to complete the quest.

5. Win a game of Mancala

Oh no, it’s back! I’m not usually a Mancala girlie, but I did watch a few YouTube videos to get the hang of it. To earn this stamp, simply win a game of Mancala in the Book Room (currently the Bakery).

Strategy tips: To win at Mancala, aim to land your last stone in an empty cup on your side to capture your opponent’s stones. Also, overcrowd your cups strategically to limit their safe moves and force them into giving you extra turns or captures. Smart planning makes the game much easier! If your last stone lands in an empty cup on your side, you take all the stones from the cup directly opposite on your opponent’s side and put them in your Mancala. That’s called a capture, and it helps you get more stones than your opponent!

Hard Quests

1. Attend a concert

To complete this quest, attend a concert at the Stadium, Coffee Shop, or Dock. Shows rotate every 2 hours or so. You can click on the stopwatch to see the next performance. Here’s me catching a show at the Coffee Shop! 🎶

2. Have tea with 10 others in the main train caboose

To complete this quest, grab the Spot of Tea in the Train Caboose on the CPJ Express. Head to the Mine Shack, board the train, and make your way to the Train Caboose to pick it up and put it on. You don’t need to remove any other items, just wear the cup, dance,  and that’s enough to complete the quest!

Just a reminder that the Spot of Tea (the cup for the quest) is literally on the bar in the same room. Hard to miss.

3. Bake 10 cookies with 10 others in the Bakery.

To complete this quest, go to the Book Room with 9 other penguins in the room and wear the Cookie Serving Apron. Only some players need to wear aprons, and to bake cookies, you just need three people, one at each station. Bake 10 cookies and you are done! People playing manacala are also counted, so yay.

4. Dig an ornament in Treasure Hunt

To complete this quest, dig up an ornament in the Treasure Hunt game. Head to the Migrator at the Beach, go down the stairs to the Ship Hold.

You will need Rockhopper’s key to access the Captain’s Quarters. Once inside, play Treasure Hunt and dig until you uncover an ornament (Bauble). You might a few goes to get it.

If you don’t have Rockhopper’s Key, head to the Coffee Shop and go up the stairs to the Bakery (normally the Book Room). On the left, you’ll find a bookshelf. Select the Captain’s Journal and turn to the very last page to get the key! 🗝️

5. Have a snowball fight with 15 others at the Snow Forts

For this quest, head to the Snow Forts and throw snowballs at 14 different penguins. It’s quick, simple, and easy to finish in just a few minutes if the server is busy.

Extreme Quests

1. Knit and donate 30 clothing items in the Knitting Room

Child labour might be illegal, but making 30 clothing items as a penguin? Totally fine! 🐧 Just start crafting and donating,  you’ll need to create 30 items and bring them to the donate station. Everything to charity!

Start at the Yarn, and end at the Donate station…30 times! I made 30 sweaters to complete it faster, cause 👀

It’s simple, but definitely a bit grindy!

2. Start a Blizzard Tree snow storm in the Forest

To complete this quest, grab the Blizzard Tree outfit from Penguin Style Catalogue in the Gift Shop, then head over to the Forest.

Wear only the Blizzard Tree, gather with other penguins, start dancing, and spam the snow emoji like you’re summoning a winter storm.

Keep it up for a moment, and the quest will be complete!

3. Wear a Santa hat with 20 others at the Ski Hill

To complete this quest, you must use the Santa Hat from the HAPPYHOLIDAYS25 code. Other Santa hats will not work, even though they look the same.

Redeem the code, then head to the Ski Hill and gather 20 penguins wearing only that Santa hat. Once everyone’s in place, the quest will complete.

4. Pet (click) every non-user Puffle around the island

You just need to click on all the puffles:

1. Plaza: Five Puffles

2. Puffle Shop: Eleven Puffles (One Hidden)

3. Puffle Cafe (upstairs Pet Shop): Four Puffles

4. Ice Pond: Six Puffles

5. Lodge Attic: One Puffle

6. The Dock: Two Puffles

7. Night Club: One Puffle

8. Stadium: One Puffle

If the quest didn’t complete, please try again, as some clicks may not have been registered properly as some puffles are very close to each other.

Party Stamps

Explorer Stamp

Visit all decorated rooms, which is all of the for this party. Good luck!

Ultimate Fan Stamp

Attend a live concert at the Coffee Shop, Dock or Stadium.

Character Stamps

Franky Stamp, G Billy Stamp, Petey K Stamp, Stompin’ Bob Stamp

During a live concert, you can earn stamps for Franky, G Billy, Petey K, and Stompin’ Bob, but you cannot meet them in person but you can earn the stamps at the live concerts at the Dock and the Coffee Shop.

Cadence & DJ Maxx

Woo! This Holiday Jam is unlike any other, as we have a brand-new mascot in the CPJ universe: DJ Maxx. He used to be an  NPC but now you can meet him in person! It’s exciting to see what’s in store with these two dancing and mixing legends!

Expect the usual long queues during visits, so be patient and enjoy the show! 🎧💃🐧To get these stamps, simply be in the same room as Cadence & DJ Maxx.

But there are no official visiting times, but we track all mascot sightings on our Discord server! Join us to get real-time notifications on when Cadence & DJ Maxx are online and where to find them.

They are also giving away free backgrounds!

Conclusion

 

The CP Journey Christmas Party 2025 is packed with content, especially all the free items! I’m thrilled that the Elf on the Shelf is back — I low-key enjoy a bit of gacha in my life, haha, and I love the daily incentives that keep you coming back to the game.

It’s also great to see the train return and have the lo-fi room available again. The whole island feels so festive and magical this time of year…and  honestly, even better than the real world! With so much to explore, items to collect, and concerts to enjoy, there’s truly something for everyone. Huge thanks to the dev teams, and Merry Christmas to all the Helpers out there! 🎄✨🐧
