RECRUITING – WHAT EVEN IS IT? WHY DO WE DO IT?

I was told to make this a ‘fun’ post, so bear with me here

Recruiting has always been an important part of the army. You hear people talk about it, complain about it, ask you to join the segments and to participate in competitions. But what is it really? Could it truly be that impressive?

I’m sure most people who are reading this already know what recruiting is, but if you don’t, don’t worry! In the simplest terms possible, it’s when members go looking for other members to join the army. Not quite like those weird advertisers you get in your DMs from time to time, who just send you a message saying ‘click for free nitro!! totally legit!!!’ and then add a ‘dIscrd’ link (don’t click on those, please). Anyway, yes, we go around discord servers, asking people if they want to join a ‘fun server’ about a penguin game that many haven’t heard of. It doesn’t sound too significant or compelling, right?

So, why do we do it?

Let’s start with this. I’d like you, the reader, to imagine this situation: You’re in the middle of war. The people are tired yet hyped. Everyone wants to win this never-ending dispute, and the other army is actually putting up a decent fight. What do you do, in order to turn the situation to your army’s advantage? When all of your troops are already well-trained, ready to take on the battles, what’s left to do?

You start recruiting all day, obviously. And when I say ‘all day’ I mean it. all. day. Twenty-four hours of recruiting, with a whole team behind you, helping out however they can. Sounds a bit mad now that I think about it, but it is true. A lot of people who are active now weren’t here during the 2021 Silver Rush War. Back then we had what we called a ’24-hour Blitz’, which is exactly what was described a moment ago. A few people would recruit for those hours, bringing hundreds of recruits into the server. But that’s how you win an actual war, through unprecedented efforts.

You might ask yourself, what’s the point of me saying all of this?

As dramatic as it may sound (because to be honest, it is), recruiting is the backbone of every single army out there, whether it’s from a Club Penguin server or those cursed Roblox servers (no, WE don’t recruit from those). Most of us, if not all, ended up in this cursed place called Club Penguin Armies by being recruited, either during a segment or during someone’s free time when they had nothing else to do.

That is why recruiting is crucial. The more people recruit, the more new people join the army. They become core members, like you and me, and they help the community thrive. If you want to be more technical about it, you can say that the people who join will help diminish the risk of ending up with less active members, since old people retire, move on, blah blah blah. I could blabber about it all day, but there’s no use in that!

So, what’s there to remember from this post?

Of course, I won’t turn this into a lecture, where’s the fun in that? Just keep in mind the fact that recruiting is and always will be crucial.

I’ve heard people say that they can’t recruit, they aren’t good enough at it, no one replies to them and so on. Let me tell you one thing, no one says that recruiting is easy, if they are, they’re either lying or they’ve been doing it for a long time. To be a good recruiter all you need is many alts, a decent strategy and a damn strong, iron will, but that doesn’t mean that it’s extremely easy. Just don’t give up after the first tens of people don’t reply 😀

Leaving the jokes aside for a moment, with the challenges, tournaments, battles, and events in the future of Help Force, it’s even more important that people learn the importance of recruiting. No matter how bad you think you will be at it, give it a try! The only thing that it will be hurt is your sleep schedule (which is already in shambles since you are most likely a member of HF, so it’s okay!).

I’ll spare you from reading more, don’t worry. No, this isn’t the most serious post possible, but I do hope that someone who feared recruiting before will give it a try after reading it. Okay! No more being sentimental about it, go work for the motherland so we can expand our empire even further.

THIEVERY TIP #1 – PLAN YOUR ACTIONS. DON’T BE DUMB ABOUT IT, OR YOU’LL END UP MOPPING THE FLOORS IN THE STAFF OFFICES. (no, I’m not sure if there will be any other tips, but it’s worth a try)
