This was one of the first songs that got me interested in the synthwave genre and also made me a huge fan of the band Cannons. It really gives you some good good vibes of 80’s, 90’s retro synthwave music, pretty chill and relaxed.
This is so smooth!! An incredibly catchy song to dance to. This really sounds like a good tune to use on a long road trip or drive far away from home. It has a good beat and I like the bits and pieces of singing so that it keeps the song interesting. The title already makes it quite obvious that the song is about a bad dream but I didn’t expect it would be talking about living in one. That’s a good perspective to make a song about in my opinion. Additionally, I like the lyrics where the singer says, “I couldn’t think of the right words; Now it’s just too late”. That makes the it slightly more sentimental. Furthermore, They also have a really interesting sound track cover.
Cannons are an American indie band that formed in 2013. The band’s current members are lead vocalist Michelle Joy, guitarist Ryan Clapham, and keyboardist and bassist Paul Davis. Bad Dream was released on March 15 2021. They have made 4 albums so far. They recently made the album Fever Dream. This was such a good song to write about and most importantly… to listen to!! The song is available on platforms such as Deezer, Spotify and Youtube. As always, here’s a playlist full of good songs to jam to that sounds like Bad Dreams. Tune in to the next one!
