HF’s Golden Helpers Award — 2021

The title of “Golden Helpers” is arguably one of the greatest honours a person can achieve in the Help Force. Being a Golden Helper means that you have influenced the community throughout the year. Through a vigorous voting procedure that includes both the ‘HF 13’ points sessions, we could narrow our list down to the top 5 nominees this year. With around eighty submissions in total, many notable people didn’t make it to the award list. Be it the staff effort by dignitaries like Desireus, Joe, Snowflake, Mandal and Rooboo or extensive GoTW win streaks by troops like Walver, and several other extreme recruiters, these achievements throughout the year have shaped the army to reach new highs.

2021 was an important year for the Help Force. Achievements ranging from reaching the Legends Cup XI finals, reaching #1 on the Top 10 multiple times and even engaging in war, every supporting member made their mark on the army. There has always been arguments over the “popularity” aspect of awards. Is popularity the only factor for winning a title? Or is it solely due to their determination and hard work in segments and events? And the reality is that an award gains importance only when both of the pillar factors combine into one.

If there are still critics or doubters that think this award is based off recency bias and favouritism, then maybe consider rethinking. We allow you to vote for multiple favourites that you have. This greatly reduces bias as supposed to voting for one person. Also, the voting was split into two sections, which means the winners had to have been in Help Force over both voting sessions to have a chance of winning. We could argue that a person not on the list deserved a position, but it wouldn’t change the fact that the ones on here sculpted the army’s shape in 2021.

A foreword from myself:

I can see the perspective that some people may have. This award is the administration awarding, or thanking the leaders and other high command, with everyone else playing spectators. The highest rewarding the highest. This is how it works in society too, but I want to assure that this is different.

As far as awards go, I want to cite Ayan’s words from last year, they are more important than you might think. “Appraisal always serves as a motivation“. It’s a nice feeling being thanked and appreciated for your work, and that’s what people deserve when they work hard. Think about why you’re in Help Force. Is it for friends? A hobby? To develop your confidence and communication skills? Whichever it is, awards are that added bonus that’s like eating a bowl full of motivation.

Other than legend inductions, this is the biggest award of the year that Help Force offers. Too many awards takes away the exclusivity and importance of the main ones. If you’re currently just a helper, a member, who attends events and segments when they can, just remember – everyone in this top 5, and indeed in the 50 nominations, was just like you. Everyone starts at the bottom in Help Force, and you work your way up. I still remember the day this year’s #1 joined the army, just like all of you did. Your skills, loyalty and dedication are vital in progressing through the ranks and catching the eye of a Commander. Stay consistent, stay friendly and bring your positive vibes as much as you can. Maybe next year, you’ll be up here with the Golden Helpers of 2022. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of the army, the administration team are forever thankful and appreciative of your efforts.

Wynn

The Blue Chancellor (749)

It’s quite fascinating how fast relations change when you get to know a person better. If anyone told me a year ago that I’d be writing something like this for Wynn, I’d mock them. Not only has she proven to be an amazing friend, but also a leader with immense potential. The Help Force has always been referred to as the army which never gives up. If there is any person who could be linked to that, it would be Wynn. Wynn seemed to revel in the effort she put for the army. She has always been an optimistic and positive individual who would face difficulties head on and try to tackle them. You would always see her working for the ‘plan’, or formulating one with the leaders.

The army faced a lot of dynamic situations in 2021. Wynn, with her consistency, pioneered the ways to have a stronghold on the European division throughout the year. Her ability to rally the troops, staff members, and sometimes even the leaders into cracking open success was remarkable. Following Quadrata’s retirement, she took over the Blue Throne. Under her, the army has witnessed significant growth and revised methods of recruiting and administration, thus justifying her title of the “Blue Chancellor”. I’m certain the future is promising under her leadership.

Snowy

The Double-Edged Sword (633)

Snowy is a very valuable member of the army, whom I have had the pleasure to work with ever since 2019. From her beginnings in Help Force, joining in December 2018 from the Fashion Army, she has proven her dedication, passion and loyalty towards our Glorious Gracious Motherland. Throughout her career, she has carried out tasks that were not easy for the average troop, directly from the Triads, while also maintaining her chaotic and friendly side, proving that she is ready and capable of anything when it came to protect the army. This is why she deserves “The Double-Edged Sword” title.

Never backing down, supporting the leaders and selfless devotion whilst also knowing how to have fun. Surviving US chaos hours, she is indeed one of the best members I have ever seen. A regular hard-worker, she helped construct the US division under the Triads and subsequent leaderships. In 2021, she was the stronghold for recruitment and activeness, interacting with the troops and staff with her friendly charisma, while also serving in the army. Her consistency has seen her rank rise to Commander, which alongside her comrades, are proving that Help Force is indeed the Best Force. I salute you comrade, and Elp is the greatest.

Ru

The People’s Admiral (606)

“It is not what you get from the world, but what you give to the world”. There are no other set of words that can define Ru better. Ru joined Help Force in July 2020, recruited by Nell, Kara and myself during an AUSIA stamp segment. Amazed by the way we worked, she started recruiting upon joining and participated in every activity with immense passion. I knew then that she would later become one of the AUSIA figures in the Help Force.

The current record holder for most points earned in the history of Help Force joined the Staff in September 2020. She was an inspiration to everyone with the number of achievements she amassed within a short period. Also a patient person, she encouraged and supported the High command during the issues we faced together as army Staff. She is the true AUSIA pillar, taking care of all staff and troops as members of her own family, thereby helping in the mutual growth of the Army and the Community.

Ru is an embodiment of hope, trust and has an everlasting need to help anyone. She is the guardian angel watching over the entire Help Force family, lasting under many leaderships. But she never failed to deliver whenever needed. Ru is always there for anyone in need, whatever it may be. She is a true friend and confidant to anybody, be it an enemy or a fellow troop. She never fails to care or help you, she stands by her friends no matter the situation. A person who would give up her own time to help you and be there with you. And that is what makes her a good friend. I am proud to say that Ru has surpassed all of my expectations and earned the title of “The People’s Admiral”.

Mayathefirst

The Devoted Achiever (545)

Maya became a General in Help Force over a year ago, and every day since then she has been a shining example of hard work and perseverance. She ranked up to Marshal soon after, and then to Admiral and Second-in-Command at the same time as me. In the three years I have been in Help Force, Maya remains one of the most active, devoted, and loyal people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Maya’s influence on the army’s growth last year, especially in the past few months during tournaments and wars, has been indispensable. She has become an irreplaceable part of Help Force, and is more than deserving of this award.

Not a day has gone by without Maya supporting Help Force in everything she does. Her determination and unyielding spirit has supported Help Force through the past year, and her hard work and guidance is a large part of the reason we have achieved so much. Her attention to detail is immaculate, making sure no one gets left behind, and she is an excellent mentor to every new Staff and Junior Staff member. She is patient, unassuming, selfless, always willing to lend a hand, and gives her all in everything she does. She is always there to support every part of Help Force, whether it be introducing the Blue Squadron trainings, hosting segments, or event planning. Maya brings joy every time she comes into chat, and it’s difficult to imagine the army today without her. For all of the things she has done for the army, she deserves the title of “The Devoted Achiever”.

Scorpion Demon

The Elite Visionary (416)

This past year, Scorpion Demon has left a vital impact on the army, leading the way to achieve Second in Command in the Help Force. He rose through the ranks quickly and was a central part of our overall success. What strikes me the most about Scorp is his determination to be the best. He continues to build our AUSIA division, which currently stands stronger than ever. As the right-hand of our current leadership, Scorp serves to be the backbone of the army dealings. His constant effort to teach new members about recruiting, designing has helped bring our team together on more than one occasion. For every new troop he brought to us, he showed two more how to do the same. With his help, we succeeded in the World War and the recent AUSIA Arena tournament.

Scorp could also be seen as an enigma, but someone who has a far sighted vision. His way to deal with army activities, along with him having a fun chaotic side often confuses people, but expresses the best of him. It is funny how we always compliment each other and improve ourselves standing united. From making ‘ScorpRu HF Café’ to leading together has been an adventurous ride. It is no mistake to say that he is one of the few people who is ambitious enough to be granted the name of “The Elite Visionary”.

A huge thanks to everyone who voted in either of the two sessions. From winning huge battles to a complete change of leadership, this year was memorable for all sorts of reasons. Despite being already two months into 2022, several challenges, battles and tournaments lie ahead of us, and that is the roller-coaster ride we will all be able to be a part of.
