Choco and the Chocolate Factory – Part 2

Greetings, Helpers. This is part two of the Choco and the Chocolate Factory. You’ll probably want to read part one before you read part two, or maybe you won’t. I don’t mind either way, I’m not the boss of you. Wait until the last part comes out and read backwards. The world is your oyster.

When He saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more ranks to reach…

The next day, Choco and Desireus planted themselves just outside the factory gates, armed with sacks and a glock. As the gates slowly opened, they instead went around the back and climbed up an adjacent tree. Finally on the factory grounds, they crept around to the front and slipped through a window, after shattering it. Once inside, they immediately triggered the security alarms.

After a struggle with workers in odd clothing–viking helmets and blue jerseys, really?–the two were escorted directly to Elp’s office. The other five children milled around in the room, impatiently waiting for their tour of the factory to begin.

“Well, well, well,” said Elp. “Look who’s come crawling back.”

“No one’s crawling to anything,” spat Desireus. “I know what you’ve done, you crazy old geezer. Well, guess what? I went crazy in those mines! Crazy, I tell you! And now I’m out for revenge! I’ve been waiting for this day for–”

“Yeah, yeah,” said Elp, waving his hand. “You’re not the first Oompa Loompa to go crazy in there. Don’t you remember what happened to Crazy Joe?”

Desireus shuddered in reply. Behind him, Jo was impatiently tapping his foot. “I want candy!’ he declared. “Where’s my tour?!”

Elp sighed and pushed himself from the desk. “Look, Desireus, you know we’re lifelong enemies. But your grandson seems alright. What did you say his name was? Choco? Choco, listen, I’ll let you join the tour. But you have to promise not to mess with anything, okay?”

Choco nodded enthusiastically. Finally, his weeklong dream to enter the chocolate factory had come true!

Practically skipping with glee, Choco joined the line of children and parents to begin the tour. Desireus stepped into line next to him and placed a hand on Choco’s shoulder. “Choco,” he said, “I need you to keep an eye on Elp. One minute he’s your best friend, the next you’re laboring in the mines. Here, take this blue shirt. If you get threatened, just pull it out. It’s your immunity card.”

Choco frowned but tucked the shirt into his bag. And then they were off. Elp led the group through a narrow corridor, finally ending at a small door.

Elp turned to face the group. Choco, Javi, Mantiuxx, Nervous, Jo, and Scorp all gazed at him with wondrous delight. Their parents behind them (and one grandfather) couldn’t have been more bored.

Elp crouched down until his eye level met the children’s. “Behind this door,” he said in a hushed voice, “is a land of magic and wonder. You’ll never see anything like it again. Don’t get over-excited, now. Keep as calm as you can!”

Elp swung open the door and revealed a room that was indeed magical. There were waterfalls overflowing with chocolate, giant mushrooms made of marshmallow and sugar, candy canes sprouting next to bushes of cotton candy, and bees bumbling about, leaving a trail of powdered sugar behind them.

Choco gasped in delight before running into the room. He and the other children explored to their hearts’ content, eating candy and running their hands through ponds of caramel and honey. Elp walked through the hoard of children. “Eat anything you like,” he said. “Everything in this room is pure, uncontaminated sugar. In fact, it’s–hey, stop that!”

Choco paused in his fun to turn and see what Elp was shouting at. Javi was growling at what looked like an angry Leprechaun, who was standing protectively over a pot of gold.

“No!” shouted Javi. “The coins, I need them for gambling! Give them to me!”

“I don’t think that’s very wise,” said Elp calmly. “Leprechauns are very possessive over their gold. If you steal some, you may not like what happens next.”

And she didn’t like it, indeed. Javi punched the Leprechaun directly in the face and snatched a handful of coins, which she stuffed into her pockets. Enraged, the Leprechaun jumped onto her back, and the two engaged in an epic fistfight. They exchanged punches and blows, tumbling through the room, while the rest of the children stood frozen in shock. Javi continued to fight back, screaming about her gambling debts and dankbot money.

Elp watched the whole spectacle with a slight smile on his face, unconcerned by Javi’s troubles. Choco didn’t notice, however, as he was too busy watching Javi push the Leprechaun away and stagger to her feet. Behind her was the chocolate river, rushing into large pipes that carried it into the candy making rooms. But Javi, with her back to this, had no idea. She swiped at the Leprechaun’s head, missed, and lost her balance, tumbling into the river.

The children rushed to the riverbank, while the Leprechaun muttered angrily about greedy children and stomped back to his pot o’gold. Javi was sucked up through one of the plastic tubes and whisked away. The children turned to look at Elp, who just shrugged. “She’ll be fine. The tube will drop her in the chocolate milk room. The Oompa-Loompas will find her and return her to her mother.

As the children were escorted from the room, Choco thought he could hear a voice through the walls, thinly shrieking “Coins! I need them!”

  1. Reading this in Johnny Depp’s voice as Elp

  2. I want Jo to die

  3. Choco is a very likeable character and I love him. This is exactly like the source material, you captured his amazingness and all round handsomeness perfectly. I appreciate the effort put into accuracy of these qualities. But again.
