Song of the Week #9

Welcome back to another song of the week! Today, we have an awesome troop known as, potatolover! They have blessed us with this song called for lovers who hesitate.

Here’s what they had to say about the song:

This whole album is from 2019, but i have really fond memories. It was summer when I first listened to it, and after I couldn’t stop. It was a whole new genre of k-indie. I learned to appreciate. I suggest everyone goes to read the translation, as it has both sad but hopefulness in it. This song picked me up after I felt so hopeless, helping me find better days.

This song is quite soothing and I understand why it would pick anyone up. The tune is quite comforting and it’s soft to the ears. This is also quite a new genre to me as I had only ever heard of k-pop from most people. In a way, this gives me an opportunity to remind myself that songs in other languages also have other genres. The title of the song is pretty self-explanatory but parts of the lyrics make it all the more wonderful to listen to. My favourite part of the lyrics is, “I know the heart that blossoms and falls, and the returning season too”. This song is part of the album LEGEND which has a very nice album cover. It has a vibrant blue and yellow and it still manages to show the light being cast onto the face.

Jannabi is a South-Korean indie rock band that formed in 2012. Their current members are Choi Jung-hoon, Kim Do-hyung, and Jang Kyung-joon. They have made 4 albums from the time they’ve been around and I think a lot of their songs are grape! The album that the song ‘for lovers who hesitate‘ is in, was released on March 13, 2019, which means it’s a relatively new album. It’s been a grape time hearing this song and learning more about it. The song is available on Spotify and Youtube. As always, here is a playlist with for lovers who hesitate and many more that sound just as lovely. Tune in for the next one!
