Food for Every Soul

Hello Helpers! Welcome back to another edition of Food for Every Soul by me, Mayathefirst! In this series, I interview people from the Help Force about their favorite and famous recipes. For this week’s recipe, I interviewed one of our Supreme Helpers: Dreamvillekay!

I started by asking Kay some questions about the recipe that she decided to share with us today!

Welcome, Kay, to our recipe series interview today! Can you tell us what recipe you will be telling us about?

Kay: Today, I’ll be talking about Argentinian Milanesa, it’s basically a crispy, golden-brown breaded cutlet that’s a huge part of Argentine comfort food!

Can you tell us why this recipe is important to you, and is there any history or story behind it?

Kay: This recipe is really special to me because I grew up with this dish. My grandmother makes the besttt milanesa, she always serves it with fries or rice with a salad on the side.

Here is the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the recipe for this amazing recipe by Kay!

Here’s the full recipe:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour,
  • 1 teaspoon salt,
  • 1/2 freshly ground black pepper,
  • 2 large eggs,
  • 1 tablespoon water,
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs,
  • 2 teaspoons oregano,
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to your liking),
  • 1 pound top round, sliced thinly into about 6 steaks

1. In a bowl or plate, mix the flour, salt, and ground pepper, and set aside.

2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs lightly

3. Mix the breadcrumbs with the oregano, and season them with salt and freshly ground black pepper to your liking. Spread the breadcrumbs out onto a plate

4. Dip each steak in the flour, coating both sides

5. Dip each floured steak into the egg, and then place the steak into the breadcrumbs, coating both sides.

6. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Fry each steak for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until the breading is crispy and the steak is cooked to your liking!

Do you have any tips or tricks on making it, or why people may like this recipe, or any memories from it?

Kay: The milanesa can also be made into a delicious sandwich! It’s sooo good!

Thank you for this very delicious recipe, Kay! Do you have anything to say to the audience?

Kay: Greattt, thank you for including me in your series. I appreciate it!

And with that, we’ve reached the end of the post. I know you wanted to read more XD, but I will be back next time with more fresh and delicious content. If anyone would like to share a recipe with us, DM me with your ideas!

Bon Appetit! <3
